Mold
vs Prestatyn American Doubles Tournament
Last Sunday club players of all ages and abilities
gathered together at Prestatyn tennis club for the 2nd annual inter club tournament.
With 10 mixed doubles pairs
per club, 700 games of tennis ahead and the sun shining relentlessly the tournament got underway. As the day progressed each
pair from Mold played each pair from Prestatyn; the tally of games won and lost swung like a pendulum between the two with
the final result in the balance right to the very last.
The final result was an unbelievably close 352:348 in
favour of the home club, Prestatyn; meaning that the overall result of the whole day came down to the outcome of just 2 out
700 games of tennis! As well as a trophy for the winning club, there were also cups for the most successful doubles pair on
the day; this honour went to Mold's pairing of Steph Bell and Ian Noonan.
Thanks to everyone who took
part and to Prestayn TC for hosting the event, which will hopefully be in Mold this time next year. Enjoy the photographs.
